United Kingdom Hertford College researchers developed a new technology that can enable more accurate detection of cancer.
Dr. Soodamani Ramalingam and led the research team developed a 3-d object recognition and image processing technology, which can help the doctor to get a more accurate image of human tumors, making cancer a better recognition and better treatment opportunities.
The research team is currently looking for partners and further funding support, and within three years will be the technology to reach United Kingdom national hospital.
The research group and Paul Strickland scanning Center gets clinical image data.
The research team used fuzzy logic algorithm (Fuzzy Logic) with the combination of image processing methods to identify malignant tumors and accurately define tumor boundary."This new image analysis method can be more precisely defined tumor boundary, so has the patient more precise treatment potential.
"Dr.. RamalingamThe researchers said that this technology can also be applied to other areas, such as the medicine can be assisted PET and CT equipment, because the fuzzy logic algorithm combined with image processing can be better defined tumor.
