China's primary health care sector PACS system standards need to be consolidated

Recently from the China Association of medical equipment of primary health care sector PACS application technology and product solutions workshop was informed that, at present, about 10% of the basic hospital established a PACS platform, most basic hospital radiographic information or through the film and the device comes with a diagnosis of workstations, unable to do so the flow of information between yuanji and sharing, therefore needed to develop basic hospital PACS system standards.

According to Chinese medical equipment Association for responsible, PACS System refers to medical image archiving and communication system, the main task is to integrate the various daily production, including magnetic resonance imaging, CT, ultrasound, x-ray, etc., through a variety of interfaces to digital mode, and to a certain authority to recall, at the same time also increased accessibility, diagnosis, and management features.

But now due to various hospital PACS System brand diversification, resulting in a standard, unified integration difficult. In addition, the constraints on the base of PACs system development factors also include the PACS System equipment prices high, and the subsequent maintenance cost, local hospitals lack of routine maintenance professionals, etc.

It is reported that China medical equipment Association has initiated the development of primary health care institutions PACS System of uniform standards, namely the provision of information to receive unified interface and standard protocols, such as preparation of programs for electronic medical records, health records consolidated technical support of image information.
