China's BLT and three-dimensional optical imaging technology become WMIC highlights

2010 World Molecular Imaging Conference (WMIC) shows including new probes and imaging platform, with a variety of molecular imaging tool, which comes from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Institute of automation and Xidian University Professor of life sciences field, Czech team bioluminescence tomography (BLT) and three-dimensional reconstruction of platform.

BLT is a new reporter gene optical imaging methods, pre-clinical studies confirmed that the BLT can monitoring body in a variety of physiological and pathological processes and in drug development, early diagnosis and treatment monitoring application with great potential.

At present the team photographer vision Ting Dr. development of dual-mode BLT/micro-CT system (registered patent) has undertaken a number of tests for the monitoring of hepatic parenchymal tumor angiogenesis in the evaluation, a variety of animal models in Vivo Imaging.

In tumor immunodeficient mice liver right lobe tumor imaging study, based on hp FEM (hp-FEM) quantitative three-dimensional reconstruction program, BLT/micro-CT system not only can you complete carry reporter gene tumor cells in vivo non-invasive, and deep tissue optical signal in the cell's energy for a more accurate quantitation.

Compared to a two-dimensional optical imaging system, the image has a high sensitivity, specificity and can realize the time and space for precise positioning. This platform for fully demonstrated in molecular imaging device research and development of breakthrough.
